l finally scrapped my 2001 Hyundai accent because there was nothing but problems with it from the first day l bought it.Within the first month of owning it it needed a new transmission, then a new motor, new brakes, another new transmission, rear cylinders, all this with in the first year of owning it, what a lemon alright. l GOT A LOUSY 5 YEARS OUT OF THIS CRAPPY CAR, the reason l got rid of it is because guess what? the transmission blew yet again!!!! l have a Nissan that is 10 years old and it is the best car l will stick with Nissan or get a honda never a hyundai again, they are truly a piece of S.h.i.t

They are normally reliable, sounds like you get a real bad car

From what l hear, today is Hyundai is are pretty well built cars. l have heard a lot of negative things about the Accent though. l think Hyundai has progressed into a decent car over the years, but your particular model probably was not one of those. l agree.go with a Honda, Nissan, or Toyota.

yes and l do not own one first of all hyundai needs to learn some stlying so there cars arent so ugly. they need to cut the 100,000 mile warranty and make their cars better. yes gat a honda l had one for 10 years and the only [roblem l had was something with the transmission

The dealer had to put a new engine in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra at 35,000 miles. So far it is working good, but we will see what happens next. Otherwise it is been an ok car. If l had it to do over again, however, l think I'd buy a Toyota Corolla.

That is because you had the 2001. It was just after that when Hyundai got a lot better, and l mean a lot better. BTW you had the Accent. If get like a brand new one today or another one like the Sonata trust me the qaulity is better than Toyota no joke.

check your local 'lemon law.' Since you had the car 5 years and have already gotten rid of it, you may no longer have any rights. However, if you purchase a new vehicle, some (if not all) states give you a legal right to some compensation if the vehicle is determined to be a 'lemon.' My wife has a 2002 Elantra with nearly 130k miles. We have had no major issues, just some poor quality interior pieces. For the cost savings, l will stick with Hyundai.

Buying a car is like playing a lottery: there will be bad and good outcomes. l have a Hyundai and l am satisfied with it. So are the people who recommended it to me. But l also do homework before going car shopping: research models, dealers, etc.

l had an 04 Tiburon and started having problems with it within a month of getting it.. l always had something wrong and finally traded it in for a Toyota..never again. Fun car to drive but not worth all the problems

hahahaha.as soon as l saw your main question l thought transmission.but l never knew they were that bad. yes, their trannys are horrible. nissans are good too, and l know you probably wo not do this anyway.but if l were you i'd check out chevy.i used to be diehard import and l looked at a new chevy and bought it..their quality has really improved. you'd be surprised.
