crankshaft position sensor location on a 2002 hyundai sonata 2.4l

Uhhh.. Try the crankshaft! Most are near the harmonic balancer where the accessory drive belt is. l personally have never seen one in any other location.

It is at the crankshaft sprocket 2 o'clock position. You need to remove the drive belt, crankshaft pulley and timing belt cover to see it. It takes around 2 hours to replace.

its a pain in the rear to do your self without proper tools.you have to take the timing belt off in order to remove sensor. also to get the timing belt off you have to remove power steering pump and bracket..to do that you will have have tiny little hands like the ppl who built these cars. There is hardly any room to do anything. Good luck! let me know how it goes..

use Hyundai parts,revised part. Also remove front engine mount bolt along with passenger side engine mount,gives you more room to work. I've done 50-60 crank sensors,to the t-belt and balance belt while your there.
