Does anyone else think that their cars have gotten way better in quality and apperance? l have had no problems with my last one (Accent)and the new one (Elantra) is awesome. Are they improving or did l just get lucky not having break downs?

Hyundai has greatly improved their quality over the past several years. A company (can not remember who.somebody like JD Power) recently ranked the most reliable brands. The list was dominated by Japanese. However, Hyundai beat out the Big 3 in the list.

no they are really improving. You do not have to be afraid of buying Korean nowadays, especially for the price. You get a lot of car for the money.

And because Kia was bought by Hyundai in 2000, Kia is also as good.

look at this study by JD powers, you will be impressed.

l am a big fan of Japanese cars but l have to admit Hyundai has improved drastically over the years. The Elantra is really nice. It has been since around the 2000 model year, but people tend to dismiss them. l have yet to find a Hyundai owner that did not like their car as of late. You better by soon because Hyundai is moving upscale & their company Kia will take their place once the do so. Have u seen the pics at the luxury car that Hyundai is going to bring to the market around 2009 to compete with BMW & Mercedes. l was told that BMW & Mercedes have taken notice. That says a lot.

Hyundai builds some of the best cars on the road today. They are rated 3rd overall in initial quality (behind Porsche and Lexus) they are rated 1st in overall safety.

we owned a 1988 hyundai excel gls, bought new. It had over 200,000 miles when it was totaled by a red-light runner. It had the original engine, clutch, transmission and was trouble-free. We now own a 05 elantra with over 60,000 trouble free miles.

l do not know much about cars but l own a Hyundai Tiburon with 260,000 miles.

The only problem l had was a Power window that shorted out.

l had an Accent for a few years then traded up for an Elantra. We also owned a Kia Spectra (same company, basically a re-branded Elantra) a few years back. l can honestly say that Hyundais r the best value out there right now. Their warranty is outstanding, but u will barely use it because their cars r extremely reliable. They r priced incredibly well & r loaded with features. We got our '06 Elantra for just under 14k & it is loaded with power everything, AC, MP3, cruise control.you name it. A similarly equipped American car would cost at least 18 or 19k & not be anywhere near as reliable. They also get great mileage.my Accent got around 36 mpg, the Elantra gets around 32-36 (a little less b/c of auto transmission) & the Spectra also averaged around 36 mpg. We take trips out of state to see family.the drive is around 410 miles, & we always make it on one tank of gas with just under 1/4 tank to spare. l go straight highway with the cruise on & l get 37 - 39 mpg. Its insane!

We love our Hyundais & will always buy them in the future. They r now in the top 3 in reliability (tied with Honda!) & r fun to drive. Having owned a few Hyundais, l would definitely say they have improved & r well worth purchasing. The only downside in the past was resale value, most of America has not caught on to how good Hyundai is yet but l think that is changing. My Elantra has a Blue Book value of around 12,500. Not bad that it only depreciated 1500 in a year!
