l have an 02 SanteFe V6 with112K. Got it new and it has been properly maintained. Recently the fuel mileage has dropped from 300+ pre tank to just under 200. There has been no change in power. The only thing l can think of is bad injectors. Ive tried several bottles of injector cleaner with no change. Any suggestions?
The car is PROPERLY MAINTAINED. Air filter is changed 3 times a year, last ''tune up'' at 90K (recommended at 100K). We're talking about over 100 miles per tank, unless the air filter was the original one, l do not think that would be the problem.

Would first look at the breathing,..air cleaner change. Maybe the spark plugs changed secondly.
When you fill up makes a difference...you get more fuel in the early morning than in the late afternoon on a hot day.(Fluids expand when heated - physics law)

hey l would first go put the car on the scanner maybe a bad oxygen sensor or maybe regular plugs and wires

change your car! it is sheet car! get a BMW dodge or an Audi!

You may have a carbon build up in the intake. By the way l forgot to ask. Is the check engine light on & is it still running normally? If the light is on l would recomend that u have a Tech diag the vehicle. If the vehicle seems to be running normally & the check engine light is not on then l would recomend that u try to de-carb the engine. This is a fairly simple pocess. First go to ur local auto part store & buy a can of ''Sea Foam''. That is the brand name of this product. It will have instructions on in but here r the basics. Drive ur vehicle till it reaches normmal operating temp then make sure u park in a well ventalated area. Keep the vehicle running, pop the hood & using the power brake booster hose (this is the hose attache the the booster behind the brake master cylinder at the firewall) suck in the ''Sea Foam''. This will suck the fluid into the intake manifold. It will cause the engine to stall. Once the engine has stalled then reattach the hose & let the vehicle sit for 15 to 25 minutes. Then restart the vehicle. It will be hard to start & will smoke a lot. The smoke is the fluid & carbon being cleaned off. l would then recomend driving it till the smoke clears. Depending on how bad the engine carbon is built up u may need to do this again. But, try it firdt & then see if ur economy increases, & maybe some power return that has been lost gradually.
