l have a 2005 Accent that the transmission needs to be replaced at 56,688 and the dealer in Connecticut is denying coverage because l was not following a ''severe condition'' maintenance schedule.l was told by Hyundai Motors that if l did not drive in the 5 conditions listed in the owner is manual, then l did not have to follow that schedule, which means the transmission fluid would have to be replaced at 105,000 miles, not the 30,000 that the dealer is saying.l have all my maintenance records showing that the transmission fluid was inspected every 3,000 miles when the oil changes were done, which is all that was needed to keep the warranty intact, if following the regular maintenance schedule, not the severe condition schedule.

What is wrong with the transmission exactly? Is the malfunction due specifically to unchanged fluid? If the fluid is burnt & caused the problem, then l doubt they will have to honor the warranty. If it isn't, then it is just a cop out & they do not want to pay. l would talk with the Hyundai Service Manager, another Hyundai dealership, & ur trusted personal mechanic. If necessary, escalate to the Hyundai Regional Manager & talk with ur lawyer about the terms of the warranty contract & how to proceed.
