smooth shift.It only happens when you step on it and try to accelerate quickly.l had it to the dealer and explained it to them and they gave it a transmission service.They told me on the computer that nothing showed up that would bring up red flags.l think l am being jerked around.

might be motor mount & most offen any time u deal with dealer ur getting jerk when any shop can work on the car only time u need dealer is when the work is free & sometimes even then l wouldnt take any car there knowng they twice as high there as any other place & l bet it wasnt a old man telling u that was it or was it a younger guy in his 20 is really they wasnt jerking u a round they just didnt know how or what to do... go to any shop ask them to check motor mounts or even ask them to ride a long & feel it or hear it

How many miles do u have on this car? If it is under 60,000 miles ANYTHING done to fix this problem should be under ur bumper to bumper warranty. Actually if it is a transmission problem (and you're the original owner) it should be part of the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. Go to a dealer ( l recommend another Hyundai dealer if this one jerked u around) have a technician go for a ride with u so u can duplicate the noise. If they r a pain about it threaten to call Hyundai & the district rep, if they do not budge call Hyundai. Explain to Hyundai u r very unhappy & they will take care of it. Hyundai is very strict on their Customer Satisfaction.

There is a technical service bulletin on this issue. Contact ur local dealer & have them 'reset & relearn the adaptive values' based on bulletin # 08-AT-003. 'Automatic transaxle harsh and/or delayed upshift or downshift.'

It is a simple reprogram of the TCM. The transaxle control module (TCM) has internal logic that allows it to compensate for mechanical tolerance changes which may occur during the life of the transaxle due to normal wear.

Worst case scenarios would need replacement of the TCM (msrp $212.00) or the entire transmission. If u r the original owner, u have the 10 year/ 100,000 mile warranty on the powertrain, which would cover the transmission replacement.

Generally, this has to be done by a dealer because they r the only ones with the computer & software. If u r beyond the warranty period of 5/60, u will be responsible for the cost. It takes a half hour (or less) to do.

There is another bulletin that more closely matches ur concern, but it is for the 2004 model year with 2.4L or 2.7L. Most of the complaints were described as a bump or a jump or a hop type response from the vehicle when accelerating. That bulletin number is 04-40-008. If they can not verify using the Hi-scan codes, they should be able to find something through the service bulletins.
