It is at a small used car dealerships. I am looking at two Hyundai Sonatas. One 2006 w/ 44k, one 2005 w/ 41k. The dealer says its still under factory warranty, but l thought that Hyundai warranties are not transferable. Help please!

l would not do it. No offence but those cars suck , thats why their resale sucks. you could do better with an older honda. and l doubt the warrenty is transferrable, but if you do buy get everything in writing.

well they must be then or the dealer would be misleading you...if the dealer would to tell you that it is.. get it in writing before you buy the car..

my grandma has a sonata 2001 and my cousin has a 2003 sonata both are happy still with the car

Best to check the Hyundai website to get it from ''the horse is mouth''. You can carfax the VIN for free to see if they have been junked. If you want to check them out further, you should make arrangements with your mechanic to check them out for you.

first they are crap cars they are costly for parts they unreliable and the warranty that they have you need to read very carefull cos it has in one l had that it does not cover moving parts ( l went mad and said the whole thing moves ) you may get a good one just get it on hp that the garage offers not a finance company that way they will have to keep it fixed or ya can just give it them back .. good luck be carefull.

Yes, the 5 yr/60K warranty is transferable, like on all the other brands out there, the long powertrain warranty is shortened to the length of the bumper to bumper warranty. So, both cars u r looking at will still have about 1 year of normal driving mileage left before the warranty is up, u can buy a 5 year extended warranty for about $1300 if u desire.
l have a 2006 Hyundai Azera, best car I've ever driven or owned. Hyundai sales r up every year for a reason, they just keep getting better!

you still get the 5 year 60000 mile bumper to bumper and roadside. you do not get the 10 year 100000 mile powertrain. l should know l just bought an 07 sonata and took it to the dealer the local hyundai dealer with the same question. get the 06 much better car

From September 2002 all UK Hyundai came with 5 year unlimited mileage warranty which is transferable and better then any used car warranty you can buy.

l bought a used Sonata back in Oct. You hardly ever get a used model with a warranty, but l believe all these newer 10 yr / 100,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranties hold up even after the original owner, .but check cause l could be wrong. My car would've made the 10 yr, but had 105,000 on it - which is why l believe the original owner got rid of it. Does not matter to me though - l have all service records, & the car was very well cared for , & is in great shape with no problems. Do not listen to others who say ''______ sucks'' - they know nothing about the car or brand.
