Anyone own a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon? I need some help?

l just recently had to get a new transmission for it and ever since it is been acting kinda funny.l guess what my question is how many rpm is is it supposed to use going down the interstate?Mine is 4,000.And it just feels and sounds like it needs to shift but its in 4th gear [its an automatic].Does that shound about right to you??l do not remember it using that many rpm is before, but l could be wrong.Can anyone help me?

r u sure its in 4th.can u count the shifts as u accelerate?..4K sounds high but my wifes subaru at 70mph is at 3600 but my v6 pickup is at 3K..if its a new tranny go back and have them check it.if it screws up later at least you can say .to them..i knew is was messed and so did you.

sounds normal to me, but if youve had more mechanical problems on that old of a car l would look in to trading it off, quick, you wont get your money back out of it

l think you should go to another transmission shop and have them diagnose any problem. Tell them your concerns and see if they think you are right. 4,000 rpms does sound high for only going 60-65mph in highest gear. However, I've never driven a small engine car, just V6's, so my Azera 3.8L at 70 mph is only around 2500 RPM.

It should be in between 3000 and 4000rpm when it shifts.
When you accelerate or drive faster, the rpm stays higher and the transmission shifts later.
