Trying to have a remote starter added to my car.Was told This model does not allow me to have one. It has an automantic trans and power everytrhing with a security system. l would like a remote starter added. Thank you.

You wont be able to do it with the factory alarm.

You need to disable or remove the original alarm/security system and add an aftermarket alarm that has remote start as a feature.

All Hyundais, including yours, can be fit with remote starters. The only models that need adaptors for the computer r the Azera & Veracruz & probably the Genesis. All other models r basic installation, though it does cost more for manual transmissions.

You should have it professionally installed (so u get the manufacturer is warranty) & u will get new remotes that operate the locks, trunk, alarm & the remote start.

We use 'Cool Start Crimestopper' remote starts. The company that installs them warranties parts & labor for as long as u own ur car.

Whomever said u could not have one probably should not be the one to install it anyway. Perhaps they r not up-to-date with the technology or do not even want to do it at all, so they make up a silly excuse. It is a little time consuming & there is a lot of electrical wire work involved. It can be difficult for some people to follow diagrams & schematics.

Talk to ur local Hyundai dealer. It should not be much more than $300 for everything.
