l was at a stop sign and car did not seem to wanna go in 1st gear it made a noise like it was trying would go maybe 2mph. So l slowly backed up to nearest driveway and than it never started again. Battery is fine. Do you think it is the clutch? Just bought the car too, bummer!

Chances are good that its the clutch, if you just bought it and from a dealer ,take it back they have an ethical obligation to repair it. if you bought it from a private seller take it back. they should also repair it.. if all fails its not a big job and the spares wont cost too much

As long as you did not buy it ''as is where is'' or something you likely have some legal recourse to have it fixed. l agree it sounds like a clutch problem.

What make of Hyundai do you have? Is it an auto or stick? If its a manual and was stalling when you engaged the clutch and was whining at a high RPM, its probably a bad clutch. Did it do the same thing in reverse? if so, bad clutch.. But the fact it did not start has nothing to do with your clutch.. If you engage your clutch and nothing happens, maybe you have a bad clutch pedal switch.. Also, alternator could be bad, making it die, whether an auto or manual.
